Leadership Programs

We not only believe that LGBTQ students should not have to wait until they leave school for things to “get better” for them,  but that they can be active participants in creating positive change in their own school environments.  Because LGBT youth are often the targets of harassment and social ridicule, there are fewer opportunities for LGBTQ youth to develop leadership skills through their participation in school activities. We have been engaging LGBTQ youth in leadership programming since 2006 through offering leadership workshops and in-schools opportunities for students to develop and practice these skills.  The goal of the QuERI leadership program is to enable youth to experience their own power to effect change by exercising leadership in their environment through both formal and informal work.
